This 2010 Cabernet from Mt. Veeder is one of my favorite Cabs I have tried this year. After opening the bottle, I decanted for about 45 minutes and it opened up nicely. The nose is full of cherry, ripe blackberry, vanilla, and baking spice. This is a very full bodied, big wine as you would expect from California Cabs. On the palate there was a lot of fruit upfront with blackberries, licorice, oak, cocoa, and a slight dusty note that I really enjoyed. The finish is nice and dry. At $30 a bottle this wine can stand up to some of the big names i n California Cab production. Strongly recommend.
