Chateau de Parenchere 2012 Bordeaux comes from estate grown grapes on the far Eastern border of Bordeaux. This is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. The aroma has notes of raspberries of front, accented with vanilla, cocoa, and a hint of leather. The flavor is reminiscent of blueberries and black cherry with some earthy, leathery flavors and hints of some floral notes. This wine has well structured tannins with a silky mouthfeel and finishes semi dry. This wine is lush and complex and really over delivers for a moderately priced Bordeaux. It is delicious on its own, but would pair nicely with roasted lamb, duck, or even prime rib. If you are a French wine lover that doesn’t want to break the bank, this one is for you.
