As soon I saw the new Boulevard Hibiscus Gose in the shop, I knew I needed to get my hands on it as soon as possible. This gose is a perfect introductory sour beer for those who are newcomers to the sour trend and not looking for something TOO funky or acidic. As a huge sour beer fan, I’ve been turning people onto this beer left and right. The Hibiscus Gose has a super light and very crisp body. It has actual steep dried hibiscus flowers that are included at the end of the brewing process, which creates a nice pink hue to the beer. The flavors in this gose really got my attention, it has an amazing fruity yet subtle funky flavor and the first sip greets you with a bit of carbonation, which I love in a beer. It is also brewed with coriander so there is a bit of spice in there too which just adds another dimension to all the flavors. The Hibiscus Gose is the perfect summer sour with its refreshing and crisp finish, 4.2% ABV, and not too tart like some sours can be. I would definitely recommend this beer to anyone that’s trying to branch out their taste buds and try something a little bit different! I promise you will not be disappointed with this one.
