Ms. Clio is no slouch. This Spanish blend of Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon is full of bold bodied flavors that will leave you wanting more. Bodegas El Nido’s find their wines are an honest result of their strong belief that the soil, climate and the Monastrell grape from Jumilla, Spain could be the foundation of wine with exceptional personality and quality. The flavors are intense with black pepper, tobacco and spicy cherries. The initial aromas of dark chocolate and tar are in your face and strong at first but she settles down beautifully. Clio is quite alcohol forward and at %15.5 ABV this wine becomes alive and best enjoyed when it is able to breathe for an hour or two. As far as food pairings go I would suggest a T-bone steak or even a pot of spicy chili, something that is able to stand up beside this spicy blend. As we gear up for our coldest upcoming months I suggest coming by and grabbing a bottle, Clio will keep you and your guests warm this winter! Cheers!
